MAJOR announcements of WWDC:2024

As with many tech events this year, Apple’s 2024 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) spotlight was on AI. Many advancements and developments were announced, regarding Mac users. We predicted some things and some things we did not.
We have listed all of the most important announcements below in case you were unable to see the live keynote.

 AI-powered Siri

The long-awaited partnership between Apple and OpenAI is finally here. Apple revealed at WWDC 2024 that ChatGPT will be integrated into its operating systems and Siri. With this new feature, Siri will decide automatically whether a question is more appropriate for ChatGPT. Before submitting the request to ChatGPT, Siri will ask ur permission. Without having an account, ChatGPT can be used through Siri for free.

Updated Siri

If you make a mistake mid-command and correct yourself, Siri will recognize it. Siri can recognize features you describe without knowing their names and can recall past questions to give more accurate answers. Using on-screen awareness. Siri can add addresses from your screen to contact cards and enhance photos with commands like “make this photo pop.” You can share meeting summaries via email, and Siri uses “personal context” to know details about you from messages and notes. If Siri thinks ChatGPT can answer better, it will ask if you want to use ChatGPT instead.

 New AI features

With iOS 18, Apple is introducing number of new AI features across its apps. These include response generation and email summarizing, along with the recently added Genmoji tool that enables you to make personalized emojis in response to text prompts. Additionally new AI image generator, Image Playground, was also showcased.
Similar to Google’s Magic Eraser, AI will let you to search for photographs in the Photographs app using natural language and remove background objects. The Notes and Phone apps will also get AI-powered transcriptions and summaries.

 Apple AI System

Apple Intelligence, the company’s AI system, is following suit. The purpose of this new personal intelligence system is to integrate potent generative models straight into your Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It opens up a world of new features in Apple’s native apps, such as text summarizing and image creation.
Security is one of Apple Intelligence’s main priorities. To protect user privacy, the system decides automatically whether to execute requests on-device or via Apple’s private cloud computing service. On the iPhone 15 Pro, iPads, and Macs with an M1 chip or later, it will be available for free.

App Locking and Icon Customization in iOS 18″

Along with the AI developments, iOS 18 will see a redesigned Control Center from Apple that offers more customization choices.
They’re introducing a feature in the updated version that will allow you to lock specific apps and freely reorganize app icons on your home screen.

 RCS support

Following last year’s announcement, Apple confirmed that RCS support will arrive with iOS 18.

iMessage

iMessage will also see several upgrades, including the ability to schedule texts and support SMS messaging via satellite. Apple is also adding new text formatting tools, such as the ability to bold, underline, and italicize text, along with colorful Tap back options.

 What’s New on Apple TV Plus?”

A new feature coming to Apple TV Plus lets you view the performers and their roles in the movie or TV show you’re viewing by swiping down on your remote. Additionally, you may find the song that is now playing and add it to your playlist on Apple Music. Furthermore, Apple TV Plus will automatically display subtitles when you mute a show and will support 21:9 projectors.

  Apple’s New Password Manager App

Apple has released a new Passwords app that is intended to assist you in managing your login details on several devices. The program lets you create and save passwords, just like existing password managers like LastPass and 1Password. On iOS, iPadOS, macOS, vision OS, and even Windows, passwords will be accessible.

Apple’s Long-Awaited iPad Calculator App Arrives

Finally, a calculator app for the iPad is coming after over ten years. This app has a new feature called Math Notes that lets you write equations on your iPad using an Apple Pencil and have the program solve them for you.
Additionally, Apple is launching Smart Script, a tool that uses machine learning to spell-check your notes and improve the appearance of your handwriting.

Apple’s macOS Update Brings iPhone Mirroring to Mac

The upcoming macOS update from Apple will let you mirror your iPhone on your Mac, letting you use your Mac to interact with your iPhone. With this function, you can listen to audio on your mobile device and view notifications.
Furthermore, Safari is launching a brand-new feature called Highlights that makes use of machine learning to find and highlight noteworthy sections of a page.

 Stay active with watchOS 11

Among the many new features in watchOS 11 is the option to install widgets automatically based on your needs. Apple is launching the Vitals app, which lets you “explore your most important health metrics at a glance.” Other features include Live Activities, new cycle tracking capabilities, and Check In support, which lets your loved ones know where you are while you work out.

 Call Control: Answering with a Nod on Air Pods

Apple is integrating Siri Interactions in the upcoming software update for the Air Pods Pro, which lets you answer to Siri’s announcements by shaking your head yes or no. The Air Pods Pro will also have Voice Isolation, which will improve speech quality and cut down on background noise.
